As many of you know the girls worked hard last week to raise money for breast cancer now for breast cancer awareness month.
I still look at my boys every day and feel blessed to have them and be able to watch them grow after being through breast cancer twice.
It all started one Sunday morning when I turned in bed and felt a pain in my breast as I did so. I felt a bit deeper and instantly felt a pea sized hard lump. Asking my hubby to have a feel he agreed it was definitely a lump and he had previously had testicular cancer and he thought the lump felt similar.
That was it. One moment that changed my life; it was a rollercoaster for the next 5 years but I’m one of the lucky ones who can still tell the tale and live each day.
Please take a minute to check your breasts and look out for any changes. Don’t put off your mammogram. It's not that bad and could save your life. It was early detection, an amazing GP and fantastic NHS oncology team that saved my life. I received the best care possible and feel nothing but gratitude for them.
